Gwenia Fiskevold Gould is vying for the Ward 1 seat.

Early voting at City Hall is underway now, with the April 11 election at the Ward 1 polling site, the American Indian Resource Center on the BSU campus.

FISKEVOLD GOULD ANNOUNCES INTENTION TO RUN IN SPECIAL WARD 1 ELECTION

Gwenia Fiskevold Gould has announced her intention to run as a candidate in the special Ward 1 election this spring.

Filing for this special election will open Jan. 31, and will remain open during City Hall hours through Feb. 14.

Fiskevold Gould is the Director of Annual Giving at the Bemidji State University Alumni & Foundation and also serves on Bemidji’s Parks and Recreation Commission and the Community Police and Advisory Board, as well as the United Way of Bemidji Area’s Investment Cabinet.

Fiskevold Gould has a long history of political engagement, from doorknocking with her father as a child to working as a legislative assistant.

The Ward 1 seat was vacated upon the successful at-large election and subsequent resignation of Audrey Thayer.
